I took this shot in the Koke'e State Park on the beautiful island of Kaua'i. The Kauai Forest Bird Recovery website says:
"The 'Apapane is a common honeycreeper, and can be found on all of the major Hawaiian islands. Historically, the 'Apapane was common on all major Hawaiian islands, but is currently restricted to native forest habitats at higher elevations. In those habitats, the 'Apapane is common on Hawai'i, Maui and Kauai, and becoming uncommon on Oahu."
